EU climate and energy policy
The Danish energy policy has three focus points: security of supply, climate impact and cost effectiveness.
The Danish Energy Agency takes care of Danish energy policy interests on energy and environment policy in international forums.
The Danish government stated in its government platform from January 2007 that Denmark should be a green and sustainable society with a visionary climate and energy policy.
In 2007, exports of energy-sector products and consulting services accounted for 9 pct. of Denmark’s total exports.
Danish Energy Agency receives a number of foreign visitors and delegations every year wanting to know about Danish energy policy.
Within the EU, climate and energy issues have become increasingly more important over the past years. The climate and energy policy area in the EU is based on three pillars: security of supply, competitive market conditions and sustainability.
