The Danish Energy Agency has July 21, 2022 granted a permit for commissioning and operation of the Baltic Pipe pipeline in the North Sea and Little Belt and a permit for commissioning and operation of the pipeline in the Baltic Sea. The permits are subject to conditions, including that conditions from the construction permits of 25th October 2019 are maintained to the extent that they are relevant in relation to the operating permit or have not yet been met.

The same applies to local and national associations whose objects include the safeguarding of significant recreational interests if the decision affects such interests. Complaints must be submitted in writing to the Energy Complaints Board within 4 weeks from the time the decision is made public, ie. the appeal must be received by August 3, 2020 .
English Screening decision Gaz-System S.A. proposes to lay the Baltic Pipe natural gas pipeline on the seabed without any further intervention work where the pipeline crosses three shipping lanes in the Baltic Sea. Gaz-System S.A. has thus forwarded an environmental screening document, as the proposed change is not described in the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project. The Danish Energy Agency has made a screening decision on whether or not the applied change is assessed to have any significant negative environmental impacts, cf. the Danish Environmental Assessment Act.
