China: Joint Call for proposals under the Sino-Danish Memorandum of Understanding on energy technology development

The Danish Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme (EUDP) and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) have launched a joint call for proposals for joint Sino-Danish development and demonstration projects within wind energy and smart grids in the broadest sense. For Danish project applicants the application deadline is May 8, 2013 at 12:00 noon Danish time.

The framework for the joint call for proposals is defined in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building and China’s Ministry of Science and technology during the Chinese president’s visit to Denmark in June 2012. It’s expected that one to three projects will be supported through a  virtual common pot, meaning that MoST will support the Chinese participants in a joint project, whereas EUDP will support the Danish participants in the same project.

EUDP encourages new, climate friendly energy technology that increases the security of supply and realises Denmark’s business potentials in the field of energy. The call for applications for Sino-Danish projects specifically focuses on coordinated development and demonstration projects representing companies, universities and research institutions with companies taking the leading role.
