This work and the upcoming work for the next month was presented when nine thematic workshops took place in Mexico City 26-30 October. The thematic workshops focused on industry, power generation and distribution, residential buildings, commercial and public buildings, sustainable cities, transport, financing, agriculture, and data and modelling.

In the participatory process, a total of more than 200 experts from public authorities, academia, NGOs, business organizations, and private companies met and discussed current status of EE focus in the thematic area, visions for 2020 and 2030, important factors to reach the visions and the barriers.

From now till January, a virtual open process is taking place among all participants, and additional relevant stakeholders, identified by the participants are also included. At the January sessions, the results of the process will be presented as a more consolidated agreement to what the most important policies and measures to include in the strategy are.

Separate work is taking place on data and modelling, which will lead to a more detailed impression of the EE effect of the policies in the Mexican context.
