Short-term consultancy for developing energy end-use data collection methodologies and energy demand models for projections of end-use energy
The South African Department of Energy (DoE) is developing an Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) which will serve as a key energy policy pathway for South Africa towards 2050. The IEP will provide direction for the country's energy supply and demand requirements and options, and will offer cost effective paths for supplying energy considering both domestic and global constraints. DoE is further developing an updated National Energy Efficiency Strategy that considers energy efficiency perspectives towards 2030.
The assignment requires a short-term international consultant for developing energy end-use data collection methodologies and energy demand models for projections of end-use energy. The maximum budget for the activity is DKK 600,000 and the contract is for 6 months beginning in mid. November 2016.
Short-term South African consultancy to identify, assess, and design a market-based economic incentive(s) for energy -efficient appliances
The South African government through the Department of Energy is collaborating with the Department of Trade and Industry, and the United Nations Development Programme with financial support from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) in implementing the appliance energy efficiency Standards and Labelling (S&L) Programme. The programme is designed with the objective of removing inefficient appliances from the South African market and to encourage the adoption of new energy efficient appliances. The project will also contribute towards the reduction of the electricity demand within the residential sector and also introduce continuous energy efficiency improvements into the appliances and equipment industry.
The assignment requires a short-term local consultant for 6 months beginning mid. November 2016. The maximum budget for the activity is DKK 700,000.
