Danish consumption of natural gas went up in 2010

Production of natural gas fell by 3%

In 2010 Danish consumption of natural gas went up by 12.2% to a total of 4.7 bn. Nm3 natural gas compared with 2009. This increase is due to colder weather in 2010 and greater consumption of natural gas at the large-scale CHP units.

In 2010, Danish natural gas production fell by 3.0% to 7.7 bn. Nm3.

Exports of natural gas fell by 11.8% due to a significant drop in exports to the Netherlands. In 2010, natural gas was imported for the first time since 1984.
