Technology Data for Renewable Fuels

This technology catalogue contains data for a number of technologies to convert biomass and other kind of renewable energy into liquid and gaseous fuels. The catalogue covers both existing technologies and new technologies under development.

The technology catalogue was first published in 2017 and is regularly updated since. There are five main sections in the catalogue that include chapters on electrolysis, biogas and producer gas, pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction, methane production and liquid fuel production. The last update is from February 2026 and includes new chapters on pyrolysis and biocrude upgrade:
