Monitoring plans for aviation
All aircraft operators covered by the EU ETS are required to have an approved monitoring plan for annual emissions by January 1st 2010.
Reporting of verified aviation data
Every year before 31st of March all aircraft operators, who perform flights covered by the EU ETS, have to report their annual CO2-emissions to the Danish Energy Agency and the EU ETS register.
Free Allocation
The Danish Energy Agency administers the allocation of emission allowances free of charge to aircraft operators who perform flights covered by the EU Emissions Trading System.
List of aircraft operators
Each year European Commission publishes a list of aircraft operators allocated to Member States for the purpose of administration. The list is updated annually by 1 February as in accordance with the Directive.
Temporary rules 2013-16
The EU regulation of 16 April 2014, regulation No 421/2014, adopted a series of temporary rules affecting aircraft operators covered by the EU ETS Aviation. The rules have legal effect in the four-year period 2013-16.
