China: Director General of the Danish Energy Agency, Morten Bæk, blogs on the successful energy cooperation with China

2. October 2015

Morten Bæk, Director General of the Danish Energy Agency (DEA), shares his thoughts on the Sino-Danish energy cooperation in a blogpost at the new website for the CNREC based CIFF project ‘Boosting Renewable Energy as Part of China’s Energy Revolution’.

As the Chinese government’s interest and ambitions in a green energy transition increase, so does the cooperation between the powerful nation in East Asia and the Danish state officials and government experts.
In the new blogpost, Mr. Morten Bæk, reflects on Denmark’s long tradition of using and developing energy modeling tools and accumulation of important know-how. He mentions the successful dialogue with the National Energy Administration (NEA) and especially points to the ‘Chinese long term 2050 Renewable Energy Model Framework’ which is a model setup co-created by the DEA and China National Renewable Energy Centre (CNREC). Also, he points out that a successful model setup as the Danish-Chinese long term RE scenario concept should be a cornerstone of energy and climate development in any country.

Morten Bæk will be visiting Beijing and CNREC later in the beginning of November, where he will give a key note speech at the International Forum on Energy Transition. The forum takes place in Suzhou City in the Jiangsu Province and is hosted by the National Energy Administration of China, Jiangsu Provincial Government, and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).
