China: Round Table Discussion with Clean Tech Businesses Regarding China

14. September 2012

The Danish Energy Agency participated in a round table discussion forum on the follow up of the three Memorandums of Understanding that were signed in June during President Hu Jintao’s visit. Denmark’s ambassador to China gave a short presentation of the frame that the signed agreements constitute and the opportunities to establish an even closer cooperation with Chinese authorities in the field of the climate, energy and building.

A group of business representatives already working in China was also present at the discussion forum and expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the MOUs. The MOUs are a significant step forward to create a proper framework for businesses.

Regarding the three MOUs DEA is now in the process of preparing and organizing meetings in the working groups as the first step of follow up on the MOUs. Amongst various initiatives will be high level meetings between the two parties to further strengthening the bonds.

Further, as an aspect to the agreements it was discussed how to achieve the involvement of Chinese businesses.
