Danish North Sea exploration well completed, Ebba-1X

As operator for the companies in Licence 8/06 Mærsk Olie og Gas AS has drilled the Ebba-1X (/15-10) exploration well ca. 5 kilometres north of the Dagmar field.

The well was spudded 17 December with the jack-up rig Energy Enhancer at the position 55°37'03.92" N; 04°36'25.14" E (UTM zone 31; 6,164,845 m N; 601,211 m E), where the water depth is 34 metres.

The well location is near the A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S Sole Concession area. Before the drilling operation the companies in licence 8/06 and the DUC companies in the Sole Concession had entered an agreement on the drilling of the well.

Ebba-1X was drilled as a vertical well and reached total at metres below mean sea level in layers of Upper Cretaceous age. No hydrocarbon discovery was made.The exploration well is now being plugged and abandoned.
