Denmark assists Indonesia in green energy transition

The Danish Energy Agency is assisting Indonesian power plants optimize their environmental performance and become more flexible as Indonesia substitutes coal with renewable energy. Indonesia currently has 6% renewable energy in the primary energy mix, but has a policy target to increase this to 23% by year 2025.

Invitation for consultation on a Danish technology neutral tender for wind and solar PV in 2018

The Danish Energy Agency will conduct tenders of price premiums for electricity from wind and solar PV in 2018-2019. The total budget of the tenders is DKK 1.015 billion. The Danish Energy Agency invites comments and questions on the draft conditions for the tender in 2018.

Balmorel Lite Update: New web interface and additional functionalities

In April 2017, the Danish Energy Agency has launched Balmorel Lite, a web based energy model useful to assess the value of renewable energy into different electricity systems. This model has been developed by EA Energy Analyses for the Danish Energy Agency to be used by the partner countries in our GtG cooperation.

Danes used more energy and renewables in 2016

Lower electricity imports and less windy conditions for wind turbines resulted in increased energy consumption and increased observed CO2 emissions in 2016. As power plants in particular also used more biomass, consumption of renewable energy increased, raising the share of renewable energy to 31.3%.

New green investment initiative in Ukraine

Today the Danish-Ukrainian cooperation on energy presented an investment website for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Ukraine. This occurred on a high-level event arranged by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine with participation from e.g. the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and the Danish ambassador Ruben Madsen.

Signing of the Sino-Danish Pilot Project Agreement aims to improve District Heating and Energy Efficiency in China

As of today the “Sino-Danish Pilot Project on District Heating (DH) and Energy Efficiency (EE) Improvements in China” has been signed by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA), the National Energy Conservation Center (NECC), the Development and Reform Commission of Shaanxi Province (SXDRC) and the People´s Government of Tongchuan City of Shaanxi Province (SXTC), in Xi’an- Shaanxi Province.
