DEA and MOIT jointly launch Vietnam Energy Outlook Report 2017

Today Mr. Thomas Egebo, Permanent Secretary of State, Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate and Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in Vietnam signed the Programme Document of the Energy Partnership Programme between Viet Nam and Denmark.

Ethiopia confirms plans of engaging the private sector in developing huge wind potential

During his visit to the Danish Energy Agency the Ethiopian minister for Water, Irrigation and Electricity, Dr. Seleshi Bekele, confirmed Ethiopia plans to engage the independent power producers (IPPS) and private investors in the huge expansion on renewable energy generation including planned wind project of more than 1,000 MW.

Energy consumption increased in 2016 due to less wind

Colder weather in 2016, combined with lower wind power production and lower net imports of electricity meant that Denmark’s energy consumption and carbon emissions rose last year. This is confirmed by the Danish Energy Agency’s preliminary energy statistics for 2016.
