CCS - Carbon capture and storage

About CCS CCS is a climate technology with great potential in terms of dealing with the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Political agreements and applicable legislation In recent years, a number of political agreements have been concluded concerning CCS, and new legislation has been adopted, creating an improved regulatory framework for the deployment of CCS in Denmark. Read the political agreements, laws and executive orders.
CCS tenders and other funding for CCS development Get an overview of a number of national and European funding programmes for CCS.
Tendering of exploration and CO2 storage permits, including environmental consultation rounds The Danish Energy Agency is responsible for tendering procedures for the award of permits for exploration and storage of CO2 in the Danish subsoil. The Danish Energy Agency also regularly consults citizens, industry, local government and other authorities as new potential CO2 storage sites undergo environmental assessment.
Environmental and safety aspects of CCS The Danish Energy Agency enforces a series of environmental and safety requirements on companies intending to store CO2 in the Danish subsoil.
Publications, news and analysis on CCS The Danish Energy Agency publishes certain applications and decisions concerning exploration and geological storage of CO2.
