Update of the Danish Energy Agency’s five-year forecast of Danish oil and gas production

Expected oil production for 2009 is written down 1 per cent compared to the annual report. The expected production of natural gas is written down 12 per cent.

The Danish Energy Agency has updated the five-year forecast for production of oil and natural gas, investments and costs for exploration, operation and transportation of oil and gas.

Compared to the annual report from June a revision of the method for calculation of the forecasts has been made, because an estimate for the probability of development for the reserves of each field or discovery is now included in the category possible recovery.

For 2009 production is expected to total 15.3 million m3 of oil and 7.5 billion Nm3 of natural gas. Compared to the annual report the expected oil production for 2009 is written down 1 per cent, mainly caused by an unplanned shutdown of the Siri processing facility this autumn. The expected production of natural gas is written down 12 per cent compared to the annual report, because a lower delivery than expected has been chosen by DONG Naturgas A/S.

Compared to the annual report the estimates for oil production for 2010 and 2011 have hardly changed. For 2012 and 2013 a minor downward adjustment of the oil production has been made compared to the forecast in the annual report, predominantly because of use of the method mentioned above and because of revised expectations for future developments.

Compared to the forecast in the annual report the estimates for natural gas production for the period 2010 to 2013 are hardly changed.
